With that in mind, I’d like to explain an upcoming change to the Power Supply Cost Recovery (PSCR) factor on your monthly bill.
In December, the board voted to increase the PSCR factor slightly from $0.006 to $0.01 per kilowatt-hour. This adjustment is necessary to account for the rising costs of generating and purchasing electricity. While we work hard to stabilize rates, certain costs—such as fuel, transportation, and market energy prices—fluctuate beyond our control. The PSCR ensures these costs are recovered fairly and equitably by all members.
What is the PSCR? The PSCR factor is a line item in your bill that reflects the actual cost of power supply. It adjusts monthly to ensure that you’re only paying for the true cost of the energy we provide, not more, not less. The cooperative does not profit from the PSCR; it is simply a mechanism to recover expenses incurred in delivering electricity to your home or business. In 2024, the PSCR remained consistent each month at $.006. The change will take effect with the January billing cycle.
