Cloverland Electric Cooperative’s President & CEO Mike Heise confirmed that a small fire occurred at the west end annex of the hydro plant Sunday morning.
“We are thankful to the first responders at Sault Ste. Marie’s fire, EMS and police departments to get this fire under control quickly,” said Heise.
The small fire was extinguished quickly and no one was hurt in the incident. The plant remains fully operational. The cause remains under investigation by Sault Police and Fire departments.
