Cloverland Participates in Northern Exposure Exercise

On Tuesday, April 12, Cloverland will participate a training exercise that will simulate an emergency scenario. By participating in this exercise, we can continue to improve emergency response preparedness at the cooperative, including internal and external communications and employee training.

The Michigan National Guard announces participation in upcoming domestic operations exercise with Michigan State Police

This year’s Domestic Operations Exercise, Northern Exposure, will have a record 10 counties participating in over 15 training events April 11 -14, 2022, in the Upper Peninsula to include Delta, Chippewa, Mackinac, Marquette, Alger, Dickinson, Iron, Ontonagon, Gogebic, Schoolcraft counties.

The annual exercise is designed to train Michigan National Guard Soldiers in domestic response operations while enhancing interagency and intergovernmental partnerships. This year’s exercise is in collaboration with the Michigan State Police Emergency Management Division’s annual exercise.  Events include Situational Training Exercises, and a variety of tabletop and staff exercises. Many of the events will be hosted by commercial and federal partners such as US Forestry Service and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The exercise provides training opportunities with civil authorities and government agencies in a realistic, constructive, and simulated training environment. While integrating local, county, state, and federal partners. The exercise gives Michigan National Guard Soldiers an opportunity to train with professional incident commanders, law enforcement, first responders, security professionals emergency managers and subject matter experts from both the public and private sectors to improve interagency cooperation and improve an understanding of each organization’s capabilities. This allows participants to identify potential hurdles while working towards a common objective.
