Cloverland Streamlines Member Service Locations

Sault Ste. Marie, DeTour, and Newberry member service centers to close at end of year.

Dafter, Mich. – To more cost-effectively serve its members, while focusing on the safety of its staff, Cloverland Electric Cooperative announces it is streamlining operations at its Sault Ste. Marie (Business Spur), DeTour, and Newberry member service centers and will no longer offer walk-up payment windows nor payment drop boxes effective January 1, 2020.

While these changes will not eliminate any member services positions, it will allow for more flexible staffing at its Dafter location where it will continue to offer a payment drop box, a walk-up payment window (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), and process mailed payments.

For members still interested in utilizing a local authorized pay station, the co-op has long-standing relationships with over 35 banks and credit unions across its five-county service area that will continue to accept in-person payments on or before the due date. A complete list is available by contacting the co-op or visiting our Pay Stations page.

With an increasing number of members choosing the convenience of online and automated payment options, the co-op reminds its members that it also offers a pay-by-phone service, (844) 843-6837, an account management tool – SmartHub – accessible from a computer with an internet connection or mobile device, and Auto Pay – a service where payments are processed on the bill’s due date – avoiding late fee penalties and postage. These bill payment options are available to members free of convenience service fees. Members with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact member services at (800) 562-4953.
