Cloverland's residential demand charge collects costs more accurately and fairly from members because the the cooperative pays more for power used during peak hours (8AM - 9 PM). It also gives members more control over their power bill because they can reduce their demand by shifting usage to off-peak hours, (9 PM - 8 AM) or by spreading out the usage of large appliances throughout the day.
