The deadline for Cloverland Electric Cooperative’s 2020 Power of Excellence scholarship is quickly approaching. As part of Cloverland’s commitment to education, the cooperative awards three $1,500 scholarships each year – one for each of the three districts in its five-county service territory. All graduating high school seniors whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) are Cloverland members are encouraged to apply. Requirements include a 2.75 grade point average or greater and completing an application with a brief essay. The scholarship can be used for any college, university, or trade school. The application is available on our Scholarships page and due Friday, March 6, 2020.
The three winners will be announced in May and presented with an award at their respective schools’ senior recognition ceremony. In addition, the winners will be featured in an upcoming issue of Cloverland Connections magazine and on Cloverland’s Facebook page.
Cloverland Electric operates by the seven cooperative principles that guide all utility cooperatives across the United States. The Power of Excellence scholarship is part of the education, training, and information principle. Cooperatives provide education and training for their members, elected representatives, managers, and employees so they can contribute effectively to the development of their cooperatives. They inform the general public, particularly young people and opinion leaders, about the nature and benefits of cooperation.
