STORM SUMMARY UPDATE: (December 13, 2021)

Dafter lineman, Tyler Castagne restores an outage in Sault Ste. Marie.

Crews worked into the night on Saturday (12/11) but about 2,000 members experienced an overnight power outage. Crews resumed restoration efforts Sunday morning (12/12) with assistance from a Cherryland Electric Cooperative mutual aid crew. Outage locations were widespread and restoration was complex due to heavy, wet snow, road conditions and many downed trees. Crews restored over 13,300 outages throughout the day Sunday and worked until safety rest was required at midnight. About 140 members remained without power Sunday night, many at seasonal locations. Crews resumed restoration efforts Monday morning. Restoration efforts and additional repairs may cause outages to fluctuate. Stay tuned to Cloverland's outage map.

STORM SUMMARY (December 11, 2021) — A winter storm with heavy snow, sleet and high winds caused widespread power outages throughout Cloverland Electric’s five county service territory Saturday. At its peak, the outage event spanned more than 90 different locations affecting about 4,600 co-op members by mid-afternoon. Restoration efforts were slowed by weather and road conditions. Strong winds continue to cause fluctuating outages leaving about 2,164 members without power at 10:30 p.m.

Cloverland Electric advised members without power by 8 p.m. to activate medical back-up plans and make arrangements to ensure overnight safety. Some Cloverland crews will be required to go on safety rest at midnight, while other crews will continue working through the night. All crews will resume restoration efforts Sunday morning.

Cloverland Electric reminds the public to stay clear of downed power lines and report them by calling 1-800-562-4953 or local law enforcement agencies. Cloverland encourages members with internet access or mobile data to stay tuned to www.cloverland.com and Cloverland Electric’s Facebook page for latest updates on outages and restoration efforts.
