Monday, December 30 – As of 2:30 p.m., power outages currently number over 12,000, which is approximately one-third of our total membership. Due to such widespread outages across our service territory in 360 different locations, Cloverland crews will be assisted by mutual aid crews. These outages are currently concentrated in Chippewa (9,000), Mackinac (1,500), Luce (250), and Schoolcraft (240) counties. No estimated restoration times. As weather conditions continue to fluctuate, outage totals will also fluctuate and we expect this outage event to extend overnight and possibly to New Year’s Day in some locations. We ask our members to please prepare appropriately by making alternative arrangements as needed. Members who depend on electricity for medical needs should activate their medical back-up plans.
